Small business websites

Your website is often the first thing a customer sees. I design and build custom websites with React and TypeScript, not templates, so yours loads quickly, reads well on a phone, shows up on Google, and makes it easy for people to call, book, or ask for a quote. Published pricing from $499, and you own everything.

Most projects begin in one of these three places. We will agree on the pages and features that earn their place before anything gets built.

A new website

A complete site that explains what you do, shows your work, and turns visitors into inquiries.

  • Responsive layouts for phone, tablet, and desktop
  • Contact, quote, and booking forms that reach your inbox
  • Page titles, descriptions, and sitemap set up for search

A redesign of your current site

Keep the content that works and replace the platform that is slowing you down or costing you inquiries.

  • Faster load times and a better mobile layout
  • Clearer navigation and service pages
  • Existing content, images, and links carried across

A booking or online store site

Sell products or let customers book a time themselves, without the back-and-forth over email.

  • Product listings and secure checkout
  • Online booking and availability
  • Payment and scheduling tools connected up

What every site is built to do

A website that works as hard as you do.

Looking good is only the start. Every site I build is designed around four jobs: being easy to use on a phone, being found, turning visitors into customers, and staying current.

Built for phones first

Most visitors will find you on a phone, often while standing outside or sitting in a car. Every page is designed for a small screen first, then scaled up for tablets and desktops.

  • Tap-to-call and tap-for-directions buttons
  • Text you can read without pinching to zoom
  • Checked on iPhone and Android before launch

Easy to find on Google

A good-looking site does not help if nobody finds it. Each page is set up so search engines understand what you do, where you do it, and who it is for.

  • Page titles, descriptions, and a sitemap
  • Google Business Profile and Search Console setup
  • Business details search engines can read

Turns visitors into inquiries

Every page gives visitors a clear next step, and forms land straight in your inbox, so interested people become calls, quote requests, and bookings.

  • Contact, quote, and booking forms
  • Email alerts the moment someone gets in touch
  • Analytics that show which pages bring in leads

How a website project works

From first conversation to launch day.

  1. A free conversation

Tell me about your business, your customers, and what you want the site to do. A rough idea is enough. You get a clear written estimate afterwards.

  2. A plan you approve

We agree on the pages, features, and timeline in writing before any building starts. Work begins with 50% of the agreed price.

  3. Design and build, with a private preview

You see your site take shape on your own phone and computer through a private preview link, and tell me what to change as we go.

  4. Launch day

Your domain is connected, every form is tested, and Google is set up. The remaining 50% is due at launch, and not before.

  5. Help after launch

New pages, seasonal changes, or a monthly care plan. Anything extra is quoted up front, so there are no surprise bills.

Built with React and TypeScript

Modern tools, explained in plain English.

React and TypeScript are the same tools behind many of the web’s biggest products. You do not need to know how they work. Here is what they mean for your business and your customers.

A woman at a bus stop browsing a restaurant menu that loaded instantly on her phone
  • Loads in a blink

Pages are built ahead of time and served from a global network, so they appear almost instantly, even on a weak phone signal.

  • Ready for search

Google rewards fast, mobile-friendly pages. Every page also carries its own title, description, and link preview for social media.

  • Fewer ways to get hacked

There is no pile of plugins to keep patched and no admin login for bots to guess, the two most common ways small business sites are broken into.

  • Usable by everyone

Readable contrast, keyboard navigation, and image descriptions, so more of your customers can use your site comfortably.

  • Low running costs

A pre-built site needs very little to host. You are not paying for a large server just to show a handful of pages.

  • Room to grow

Bookings, payments, or a shop can be added later on the same foundation, and the site can even become an app customers install.

A clear plan before building

Know exactly what you are getting.

Before any building starts, you get a simple plan of every page and the job it does. Here is what one looks like for a typical five-page service business.

A hand-drawn website sitemap on a desk beside a laptop showing a page wireframe

Example site plan

Small business site · 5 pages

A local landscaping company

  1. Home: What you do, where you work, and a clear button to request a quote.
  2. Services: A section for each service, with photos of real jobs.
  3. Gallery: Before-and-after photos that show the quality of the work.
  4. About: The people behind the business and why customers trust you.
  5. Contact: Quote form, phone number, service area map, and hours.

Every plan also covers

  • Your domain name and business email
  • Content carried over from your old site
  • Old links redirected so nothing breaks
  • Your logo, photos, and brand colors
  • Who updates what after launch
  • Hosting and running costs, in plain numbers

Spend where it matters

Build the useful part first.

A smaller first launch is often the smart choice. We work out the job your site actually needs to do, agree on a clear scope for that, and plan anything else as a separate step once the first version is earning its keep.

  • Pages and features agreed before building starts
  • A clear estimate and a realistic timeline
  • Hosting, domains, and upkeep costs explained up front
  • You own the site, the domain, and the accounts

Anything else on your mind? Ask me directly.

A one-page site starts at $499, a small business site of up to five pages at $1,199, and a growth site with bookings, payments, or a blog at $2,499. These are starting points: your estimate covers the exact pages and features we agree on. Payment is split 50% to start and 50% at launch. Hosting and domain costs are extra and explained up front.

It depends mostly on the number of pages and how quickly the words and photos are ready. A one-page site is the quickest, while a larger site with bookings or a shop takes longer. You get a realistic timeline with your estimate, before any work starts.

Website builders suit some businesses, and I will tell you if one suits yours. A custom React site is faster, has no plugins to keep patched, looks exactly the way you want rather than like a template, and is yours to keep without a monthly builder subscription. The trade-off is that larger changes go through a developer rather than a drag-and-drop editor.

Nobody can honestly promise a top ranking, so be wary of anyone who does. What I can do is build the foundations Google looks for: fast, mobile-friendly pages, clear titles and descriptions, a sitemap, readable business details, and a properly set up Google Business Profile and Search Console.

Yes. You own the site, the code, the domain name, and every account it runs on. If you ever want to move to another developer or host, you can take everything with you.

Yes. I keep the content and pages that are working, rebuild the rest, and redirect your old links to the new pages so customers and search engines are not sent to dead ends.

You know your business best, so I start from your notes, your current site, or a conversation, and help shape it into clear page copy. Photos of your real work and team are always best. Where you do not have them, suitable stock or generated images can fill the gaps.

Growth sites include a blog or news section you can update yourself. For other changes, such as new hours, photos, or a new service, send them over and they are made quickly, or choose a monthly care plan that covers routine updates.

Yes. Everything happens by phone, email, video call, and a private preview link, so I build websites for small businesses anywhere in the United States.

A practical next step

A rough idea is enough. I'll help you work out the details.
